Hunger Relief Action Group

The Hunger Relief Action Group directly addresses hunger and promotes food security in our community, toward the goal of all people having access to sufficient, safe, and healthy food. Task group efforts include food donations for Manna Food Center, support of and volunteering at Gaithersburg Soup Kitchen, taking intake calls and delivering emergency food to neighbors in need through Rockville Help, Inc., and annual Thanksgiving baskets for Community Reach of Montgomery County’s Holiday Giving Program and New Neighbor Interfaith Alliance. The Group also has a relationship with The Upcounty Hub, an expanding non-profit food resource collection and distribution organization addressing food insecurity throughout northern Montgomery County and provides meals for the Interfaith Works Women's Center.

The Hunger Relief Action Group is dedicated to alleviating hunger in the greater Montgomery County community, toward the goal of ensuring that all County residents have access to safe and healthy food sufficient to meet their and their families’ needs.

Several congregants actively volunteer with the Gaithersburg Soup Kitchen, Manna Food Center, and other local hunger relief activities.  Additional ongoing efforts include:
