Carla Miller joined the staff of UUCR in August, 2018. She has previously served at Paint Branch UU Church and the UU Congregation of Columbia. Her other experiences include teaching elementary school in Montgomery County Public Schools, and Head Start classes in Baltimore City. Her UU experience includes serving as a Program Leader for the Unitarian Universalist College of Social Justice, leading journeys to Haiti. Carla is thrilled to be working with the community of UUCR to bring engaging and enriching Faith Formation experiences to our children and youth!
Carla lives in Columbia, MD with Kevin Miller, her truly wonderful husband of more than 30 years. Their three young adult children are setting off on their own journeys; one daughter recently graduated from UMCP and is now working in a research lab on campus, the other daughter is studying at St. Mary’s College, and their son is currently living at home and preparing to enter the Navy. Two tabby cats keep Carla’s feet warm at night. Yoga and regular walks keep Carla happy and at peace. Carla and Kevin like to get outdoors for a hike when possible.
